5 Tips for Spring Landscaping

Spring is the perfect time to install your dream outdoor living space. The cool season ensures that your shrubs and plants will have time to grow before the summer heat arrives. Start envisioning what you want your ideal outdoor space to include and what features you and your family would enjoy most. We are able to work within your budget in order to achieve your desired look. Furthermore, we work hard to ensure that you are happy with the end result! Here are a few tips to consider for your spring landscaping.

1. Softscaping

Softscape includes flowers, trees, and any living plants in your landscape. Consider what colors, shapes, and sizes of plants you want in your backyard. Flowers are an easy way to bring in a lot of color and contrast. Shrubs can be used along the outside of your home to create interest or to make a natural wall if you are looking for more privacy. Trees are an excellent way to bring in depth and shape to your yard. Even one tree will add that little bit of texture or color that you are looking for. In addition, trees are long-lasting, low maintenance and great for the environment!

2. Hardscaping

Hardscape includes any non-living features in your yard such as a retaining wall, walkway, fire pit, water feature, patio, etc. These features have a variety of purposes including utilization, beauty, and entertainment. A mini golf course is a great addition to entertain guests or to enjoy privately on a quiet Sunday evening as the weather is getting warmer. A patio, retaining wall, or walkway are basic additions that are very practical to include in your backyard and can also prevent potential damages or injury.

3. Choose Your Aesthetic

Start by researching different types of landscapes online or in magazines that you gravitate to. Save photos that have aspects that you would like to see in your yard. We will help you decide what will work best for your yard based on what you are looking for. We can create customized features that are unique to establish a soothing environment for you and your family.

4. Climate

Consider the climate in your area and what that means for your landscaping desires. Plants such as succulents and cacti require little water and will be less maintenance. Spring landscaping will give you time to choose what types of plants will be able to thrive the longest amount of time.
